Has the community been engaged on this project?

Yes. Bassett Unified School District has actively involved the public in this process, following both its commitment to transparency and strict legal requirements. The discussion began in 2022 through public board meetings, with multiple public board discussions and decisions held over the years. In addition the project has been presented to the Baldwin Park City Council and continues to be an open topic of discussion. 

Most recently, the first community meeting was held in December 2024, where residents had the opportunity to share feedback, One key concern raised was the need for additional access to the project. In response, the project has been updated to include a second point of ingress/egress to improve traffic flow and accessibility.
